Care

At Christ the King, we believe that care of church members begins in the context of relationships as members care for one another through community. To that end, we encourage all members to be active participants Bible study groups, Sunday morning classes, community groups, or other avenues of community at Christ the King where you can be known and supported by others.    

Pastors and ruling elders shepherd the church and provide spiritual care through prayer, instruction, encouragement, visitation of the sick, and discipleship. Ruling elders are church officers who are elected by the congregation and ordained to serve as elders. The pastors and ruling elders are aided in their work by lay members who serve as elder advisors.

Deacons minister to the church through acts of service and mercy. They care for church members by providing financial relief, widow and elderly care, budget and financial coaching, and other tangible acts of mercy care. Deacons are church officers who are elected by the congregation and ordained to serve as deacons. The deacons are aided in their work by lay members who serve as deacon assistants. 

Our Member-to-Member Care Team helps to provide meals, visits, handwritten notes, and other acts of care to church members amidst challenging seasons of life. This team is led and supported by willing members who serve on a volunteer basis.
